Best advice I can give Tom is if you plan to show it, then design it so you can move it easily. Make sure it all fits in the back of your vehicle. If you can't get out of an exhibition hall inside 15 minutes the design is wrong...
In 2009 I built a model railway layout in 7 days. Wingetts recycling garnered a lot of positive interest. The layout went into storage for about five years and I've now bought it out of storage and intend to give it a refurbishment and a new lease of life.
